“3G auction in Feb likely and services may start in September” This is what I had written in Jan. But here there is yet another delay in the auction.

The auction for 3G licences were first schedules last January.

India’s auction of 3G licenses has been fixed for April 9, after three postponements, the government said on Wednesday.

A notice inviting applications is scheduled to be issued soon, and the last date for submission of applications is March 19, according to the new schedule announced by the government.

The auction of spectrum for BWA (broadband wireless access) including WiMax will commence two days after the 3G auction is complete, according to the government.

A number of Indian and multinational mobile service providers have shown interest in bidding for the 3G licenses.

Currently MTNL and BSNL are the only 3G service providers in India.

Today in Budget I expect a bit on 3G and telecom sector in India.

I am eagerly waiting for 3G services to come to various different service providers in India. Aren’t you ? Comment!

Rahul Mahajan ka swayamvar (Season 2) is gaining more popularity than Season 1 by Rakhi (Who didn’t get married yet ). This is a reality programme which come’s on NDTV Imagine. (I know I am telling this too late)

The reality show has almost come to an end. He (Rahul) would select one of the four brides to whom he would marry.

Sometime last week there was some one form “Max New York Life Insurance” who had come to the programme (episode) and gave details about a life insurance plan to him. (As shown on TV)

Rahul has said about “Max New York Life Insurance” a couple of times more in the serial. He said he likes Max New York Life Insurance.

This is a good marketing strategy of Max New York Life Insurance to sponsor a big reality show. I think it is a perfect steep taken by them. Infact Rahul used a name of a mobile (handset) company which I don’t remember!

The marketing done is perfect as they have found out perfect sponsors.

What do you think on such a kind of marketing ?

Social Media is picking up in India too. We have so many of our celebrities on twitter , politicians are also on twitter and they blog too and many business men also love twitter.
Forbes India suggest people to follow and read Rakesh Jhunjhunwalas (RJ) blog.

But here they are not very sure that the blog is written by RJ or no? But then too they think the blog is quite informative for an investor to follow it.

He has atwitter account too.

From my findings by visiting his blog I found out that at the bottom of the blog he has written :

But I like the information on the blog and would keep on visiting it

Education sector is the one which is coming up fast. It’s a must for a graduate to do an MBA otherwise it’s not worth. Students from all field’s Arts, Commerce and Science think of pursuing MBA though in different specializations.

Executive education programmes are coming up these days. These are the programmes which are in demand in corporates.

Harvard is entering India it must have studied the markets well.

US-headquartered Harvard Business School (HBS) has decided to have a classroom of its own in the country for its executive education programmes and Indian corporate chiefs Ratan Tata and Anand Mahindra are said to be helping it find one.

The B-school had been conducting executive education or management development programmes (MDPs) in India since 2008 — but always in five-star hotels. Now it’s planning its own centre in India for executive education programmes which have been growing. [Source]

HBS ranks higher than all Indian B-schools. It was ranked the third best B-school in the world after Wharton School of Business (University of Pennsylvania) and London Business School, according to the 2010 Financial Times ‘Global MBA rankings’. [Check the top 20 list]

Charges for the executive education programmes are school- and programme-specific. For instance, HBS charges Rs 2.12 lakh (plus service tax) for a five-day programme on “Building a Global Enterprise in India” and ISB Rs 1.5 lakh for a five-day programme on “Marketing Strategy in a Competitive Environment” . IIM-Ahmedabad, on the other hand, is charging Rs 1.5 lakh for a five-day programme for top Management on “Corporate Strategy – Brand Strategy Linkages”.

A question thus arise to me is what will be the effect of this competition on the Indian education industry specifically the B Schools providing shorter duration executive education programmes!

This gives me one more suggestion that investing in education sector now makes sense. Stocks which I would now track would be Educomp Solution and Redington
