It’s obvious companies will offer discount on petrol variants of car’s. Hyundai India last week came up with an offer to slash prices of petrol cars. This comes after a 7.5 rupees petrol price hike. [Update - Maruti & Tata motors are also offering discount upto Rs 50,000 on petrol cars - via. ET]
Hyundai India was quick to capitalize on this opportunity to offer discount to it’s customers on purchase of a petrol car. I don’t know which other Indian automobile manufacturer has offer the same.
This offer is valid till the end of this month!
Under the ‘Petrol Price Lock Assurance’, the Korean carmaker is offering a discount up to Rs 3,100 on petrol variants of the Eon, Santro, i10, i20, Accent and Verna. With this it is looking to insulate customers from the petrol price hike by paying the difference of the higher petrol price for the next seven months.
Mr Arvind Saxena, Director-Marketing and Sales, Hyundai Motor India, said, “The price hike is severe and we need to soften the blow for our customers.” [source]
More competitors are expected to follow the footsteps soon.
The only option left for consumers is to buy a diesel car or get a CNG kit in place!

I think its not a kind of offer but it is something like a compulsion for car maker makers to keep there sales going like before.
