I recently met a person in a train who was sitting next to me and we started a conversation, he introduced himself as a business man and then I introduced my self as a part time blogger. And he asked a question – Are Bloggers Entrepreneurs? And I answered it yes bloggers can be termed as entrepreneurs!
Firstly who is an entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is a person who thinks of a business idea, works on it, invest’s money and time to build the idea and who gains monitory benefit’s form it. It is not only limited to this, an entrepreneur invests money and takes the risk of running a venture and constantly innovate in order to run his venture in profits. Now lets see who is a blogger & what does he do?
A blogger is a person who shares his ideas and knowledge online on a web log (which is better know as a blog). A blogger writes on a particular topic and makes money by monetizing his blog by displaying advertisements. [Interesting read - How to start a website or a blog]
Blogger invests money in purchasing a domain, host, themes, etc. and also does invest his time in writing blog post’s just like an entrepreneur. In return he gets monitory benefits from selling advertisement space on his blog.
More and more bloggers are now offering various services via. their blogs like web designing, SEO, consultancy, etc. which becomes their secondary source of income.
A blogger too tends to be innovative again just like an entrepreneur.
I think a blogger can be said an entrepreneur! What say?
