India’s 10 most innovative companies [Fast Company List 2012]

Fast company has finally come up with their list of Top most Innovative companies globally 2012.

Apple the technology giant tops the list securing the número uno position. Internet giants Facebook, Google and Amazon secure second, third and forth position respectively.

Fast Company innovative companies list 2010 had IPL as the most innovative Indian company. Well IPL ain’t there in this list any more this year.

Two Indian companies found a place in the Fast Company’s top 50 global list namely Narayana Hrudayala Hospitals and RedBus Securing 36th & 48th position respectively.

List of Top 10 most innovative Indian Companies:

Narayana Hrudayala Hospitals: 

Mainly for bringing medical for masses and follows (mixes) Walmart & Mother Teresa model. (Read More)

unveiled an integrated platform that serves more than 10,000 bus routes. Customers can view open seats from multiple operators, purchase tickets, and post ratings. (Read More)

Flipkart

The Indian Amazon needs no words. Recent valuations show that it’s valued at 1 Billion USD.

Eko

For leveraging communities to ensure financial inclusion. Bank accounts and savings are a foreign concept to most Indians: Out of 1.2 billion people, less than 360 million use a bank. Eko created a mobile platform that lets its more than 180,000 users save and transfer money with the State Bank of India through SMS. Five hundred mom and pop shops–or kiranas–act as local banks, collecting customer info and recording 7,000 transactions a day through their own mobiles.

Adani Group

For harnessing India’s growing solar power. Solar energy in India is poised to edge out coal as a cheap and viable power source by 2015, according to industry leaders. News of Adani’s plans to build India’s largest solar power plant in Gujarta hints at the nation’s growing interest in renewable energy.

In the coming years we need to see some more Indian companies in this list. Innovation is present in India but is scarce, it’s time for every one to innovative and try some thing new for the betterment of the future & the nation as well.
