The fast zooming mobile Industry is all set to get wings soon. India is the second largest mobile market in the world after China.
More over India is all set to have 893 million mobile subscribers by 2012 end. The target is revised now from the earlier one of 743 million by 2012 by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
The main reasons being for the increase in the target :
- The rate of Infrastructure growth is faster then what they projected.
- Even Operators are moving into the hinterland and uncovered areas.
- They are getting almost 50 per cent of our new additions from the rural area.
- The last factor being level of competition has increased with new players in the sector which again leads to faster deployment of networks.
According to COAI’s projection, there will be 1.24 billion mobile users in 2015 – which means one phone for every Indian.
So what this means is that the places where there is no electricity even the people staying there will have a cell phone?
Ahha I almost forgot we are gona have a Solar powered mobile phone so my above point is ruled out!!!
This report is also suggesting me to pump some of my money in telecom stocks!
